Welcome to CBA 2012

The 19th edition of the Brazilian Conference on Automation - CBA 2012, sponsored by SBA (the Brazilian Society for Automation), will take place from the 2nd to the 6th of September, 2012, in Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, at the Hotel Garden. The goals of CBA are to gather the scientific and industrial communities to enable exchange of information among the several professionals who work in electrical engineering and automation, to stimulate research and the development of relevant themes, as well as to promote the exchange among generations of researchers. In the CBA 2012 is scheduled presentation of tutorials, plenary sessions, paper presentation sessions and poster presentation sessions.

The CBA 2012 has been organized by the Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica (DEE) at the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (UFCG). The DEE/UFCG occupies an important role in the national scene. This can be proved by the following indicators: our postgraduate program has obtained grade 6 (the maximum is 7), for thirteen consecutive years, on the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) evaluation, and our undergraduate course qualified as 5 stars by the Student Guide, Abril Publisher. The CBA 2012 will provide folk performances, regional culinary and cultural tours. Within the scheduled dates there will be the Proclamation of Independence of Brazil Holiday followed by the end of the week; those days will be used for exploiting Paraíba tourism as well as other Northeastern States.
